Bryan and I just booked the same motel as Chris and Jeff...we must have gotten the last room, Chris! We can't get there until Friday night, though, so don't let them give our room away! What are plans for Saturday night, Smitty? We plan on heading back on Sunday around noon. Can't wait to see everyone again...and am overjoyed about the great sale of tickets for Paul's moped!

Well, we're thinking we'll grill-out after the Ride, for those who want to hang out with us after the ticket drawing. The ticket drawing is scheduled for after the Moped Ride, as soon as we get back.
Any suggestions or requests for Saturday evening's meal are welcomed and encouraged. Suggestions so far have been burgers & dogs, or BBQ. Or, we may just go out to dinner ... I guess it depends on what everyone else wants to do?

At this point we have no idea as to the number of people who plan to attend. We do know that Laura and Emma will be present, along with Mark Puccio, Paul's Brother, and possibly Paul's parents as well.

We plan to begin riding @ 10am ... however, since Jeanie will be here, we may be on the road @ 8:30-9am, LOL!!! Just picking Jeanie ;^D
Everyone does need to be here before 9am preferrably though, so we can get 'peds fueled, checked-over, and Riders' Meeting held, and hopefully be on the pavement @10am, and this should put us at Cherokee Dam at noon for lunch.

I don't have any Mopeds to adopt-out ... but I do have lots of pretty Betta's up for adoption ;^)
Looking forward to seeing everyone again, and hoping for a great number of Riders in attendance!!!

Bryan and I will adopt a betta...a pretty blue one...so save us one! We're up for whatever is easiest for you after the ride...I'll be happy to help Lisa with cooking, or bringing stuff, or whatever you decide...just post it and let us all know, and we'll be happy to help! See you soon!

A blue one eh? Well, I have 6 blue babies out of over 100 from our first batch, that will be ready in just a couple of weeks. Only our very best friends can get one of these 6 ('cause they're my favorites too, hehehe!) ... so you know you've definitely got one saved for you guys ;^)

You are right Jeanie there are no more rooms at the Comfort Suites East. I checked into a hotel right behind where we are staying, it is the Quality Inn East, they have 2 rooms left @ about $71.00 and the Holiday Inn Express has a lot of rooms left anywhere from $117 and up. The Holiday Inn is across the street and the Quality Inn East is VERY short walking distance from Comfort Suites East. I wonder if there is something else in the area going on. Hey Tab, Ike,Gomez and Lenny...you better get moving on your reservations!

Smitty, eating anywhere is good with us LOL!! I am looking forward to seeing everyone again. What a fun time we have together!

*G* got yard space and willing to run a hose pipe and electric to the back yard for anyone wanting to camp. Jeanie, Smitty forgot to tell you those fish come "prespoiled" by Mrs Smitty. They follow her, it is interesting to see that many fish all looking in the same direction as she moves around the Hatchery room. They flair and flutter their tails and fins trying to get her attention

hello....i posted on MA site but I thought I should post here also. I'll be there with 4or 5 other members of the breakfast mafia!! We will be staying at the The Comfort Suites East 7230 Region Lane. I hope that this was the right place to stay=) Is there an address (i'm using google earth to map the way there) that I can reference once we get the hotel? If anyone has a reference code for a discount can we use it? We got quoted $139 a night for a room. If not its all good! Thank you and can't wait to ride!!!

Cool, thats a Great hotel and great area, you will be only 20 minutes from us, and at the same hotel with several other moped riders that are attending!! Look forward to seeing everyone at the ride!!

Is that in Knoxville ? If so then you should only be 30-40 minutes away, and right there together with a large group of the other Riders.
Rutledge is past us from Knoxville, so if you get to Rutledge, you'll need to turn around (stay on 11W !), and head back toward Knoxville.
Coming off I-40, exit 392 (or 392B), turn right (opposite direction of Knoxville Zoo ... if you get to Magnolia Avenue you went the wrong way), and follow 11W / Rutledge Pike (about 12 1/2 miles) to the Grainger County / Blaine City Limits sign, clock 1.1 mile from the county / city limit line, and we're on the right, across from Schumate's Tire (he also rents U-Haul's) on the left. If you get to the IGA and Exxon, you'll almost be able to yell at me and tell me that you just past me ;^D
Coming from Rutledge (for those renting cabins there), you'll head south on 11W toward Knoxville (if you get to Bean Station you went the wrong way, and will then be an hour away from us) to Blaine, and you'll be looking for the Exxon and the IGA on your left, then within 1/2 mile Schumate's Tire will be on your right, and we will be on your left.

I'll park my retired ambulance / support vehicle at the road ... can't miss it, it's big, white, and with a red stripe.

For those wishing to camp, bring a tent, camper, or feel free to crash in your vehicle here in the yard and driveway. I'll most likely arrange parking across the road from us for those who will only need to unload their Mopeds, and that way we can reserve our drive and yard for those wishing to camp-out here. If my house was bigger I'd offer floor space inside, but we have a full house :^(

Please try to be here by 9:00am Saturday morning, so we can get everyone fueled-up, tires checked, etc., before we hit the road. Also please bring gas cans, as gas stations are few and far between where we'll be riding. There is a full-service Exxon station less than 1/2 mile from me here.
For those arriving Thursday and Friday, feel free to come on by to make sure you'll know how to get here Saturday morning. I may not be able to go riding Thursday and Friday, but still feel free to come by and hang out while I get all of the last minute preparations in order for the Ride.

$139 is quite higher than the "Internet User" rate is when you go to this web site www.choicehotels.com. I wrote up a message on page 2 of this tread, what to do and how to go about booking the hotels. It was on June 24 at 2:41 PM. There is the Quality Inn East that is RIGHT BEHIND Comfort Suites East for the Internet User rate of $71.99. That is a savings of $67.00 of staying at the Comfort Suites @ $139 at night!! Before you cancel the reservations make sure you get the room or rooms at Quality Inn East. We stayed at that hotel and it is very nice also. It would save you a lot of money. There are 2 rooms left at the Quality Inn East. But you have to click on Internet User rate. It is below the amount of rooms you pick I think. Good luck. Good to have your group along! I hope this helps if you want to save some bucks. :-)
