The Yamaha dealer where I live also sells Kymco's.
My Super 9 is a very well made scoot and a real hooligan machine when de-stricted. That said, it's also one of the more expensive 50cc scooters @ $2499 give or take depending on where you live. I think only the Aprillia SR50 and the now defunct Italjet Dragster cost more.
Performance parts are readily available. I might put a pipe on it later but for now I'm pretty happy with 50+ mph.
The Kymco Vitality is the same frame with an air-cooled engine, drum rear brake no tach for about $500 less.
I have seen air-cooled Super 9's on the web but I don't think they are US models.
I don't work for them either, lol. |

I have a 2004 E-TON Beamer and a 2002 KYMCO Bet & Win scooter. Both of these bikes are built in Taiwan and both have been very reliable. The Beamer has 4000 miles and the Bet & Win now has ~13,999 kilometers.
The KYMCO is a 20 hp 250cc 4-stroke with an 80 mph top speed. The Beamer is 50cc 2-stroke ~ 5 hp. The nice thing about the Beamer is that it is so easily de-restricted by severing a jumper wire that E-TON provided for derestricting. It has big tires and good suspension for a nice ride. It is a smallish frame. On a downhill run, the Beamer will bury its 50 mph speedometer (40 mph actual).
The Beamer is probably one of the few 50cc bikes that comes stock with a big 18mm Mikuni carburetor. The 2005 model has a much improved headlight and manual choke (better than auto choke). The Beamer Matrix is a bit more powerful and has a top box. |
