Got the tank prepped today, it was in rough shape and I gotta thank Smitty for doing the dirty work of stripping the gobs of paint off (I still have to srtip the plastic covers) and sealing the tank. Still a lot of work to do before I squirt any paint, but I hope to have everything done in 2 weeks if I can squeeze all my spare time into this.

Killer! Indian Larry was the koolest cat bike builder, and his crew is uber kool for donating swag for our auction.
The primer on the tank has dried and revealed a few pock marks from the surface rust. It's dabbed with spots of glazing putty all over, I'll sand and reprime tomorrow. I got a coat of high solids on the plastic parts, should be good to go...now I have to wait for the right wind (super windy lately) and watch for the neighbors to leave...hehe |

To me, the late Indian Larry will always be THE all-time best Chopper / Bike builder! There are many really good and talented builders, but Indian Larry will always remain the BEST!
So far, they have been the only "Big People" to help-out...another famous Chopper-builder declined, and we're still attempting to contact others. I do have a couple of other Chopper-builder buddies that I feel confident will also contribute. It will most likely be after they finish their 'tours", that I can actually reach them personally.
We've posted up-to-date pics of butnut's work on the project, on the flicker website link. Awesome 'ped being built!!! THANKS for all of your help and support!!!!!!! _________________

Smitty, It's awesome that Indian Larry's people donated stuff. It was really a blow when Indian Larry passed away. We don't have many chopper building here in NY and to loose the best was tough. I hope it wasn't Orange County Choppers that declined. That show was Paul's favorite. He would be glued to the set when it was on.
Don-O, Laura and Emma are doing OK. They were over on Sunday for a BBQ. Kind of weird not having Paul there. The kids were playing like old times. Laura and Emma will be moving down to NC. It's too expensive to live in NY and her mom bought a place down there and convinced her to move down also. I just wish I could wake up from this nightmare, but it is real and he won't be coming back. I guess I have to face the reality that Paul's gone and things aren't going to be the same. Kind of tough since we were only friends for just a few years.
Sorry I haven't been up to posting and stuff. I kind of been a little bummed about all this. _________________ Perry Manessis

No pretenses with Indian Larry. You got what you saw. A very cool dude and had a lot of love for his fellow biker brothers. He had the greatest TATS. Just loved that guy and he will be missed. Wardie |

I was able to shoot sealer, silver base and flakes today...if the weather is good tomorrow, I'll have the kandy and graphics done, hopefully clearcoat too. Felt good to go on an evening ride to clear the fumes outta my lungs...LOL |
