I would just like to add on that that is a 1986 Yamaha Salient. 2-stroke Auto-lube. I think that it's a single-speed.
It still needs a taillight and a license plate to be legal (and a front brake cable)
Things it needs to pass the safety inspection it needs:
New battery (with present one, the headlight dims unless I don't give it throttle)
Brake adjustments and front brake cable
Taillight _________________

Resize that. It will take me 2 minutes to load and I'm on a fast connection. Please, for the love of god, get that serious bandwidth rapage out of here. _________________

Well, here's a US 'pansy' asking you the same thing.
I have a seriously fast cable modem and your picture has been "s_l_o_w-l_y" downloading for so long that I really do not choose to wait for it. |

Tab -
I went to a few sites and researched that Scarabeo - What a sweet bike!
That DiTech engine seems to meet or exceed the new Euro II emission standards, without a Catalytic Converter. That's some impressive engineering right there.
I was also very impressed with the rest of the bike.
It's a little pricey, but with the reputation of Aprilla, I'm not really surprised.
This will definitely go on my 'must see' list! |

Mine is not a DiTech, but I can tell you...I've had it for 2 years and over 1700 miles and all I've had to do was put air in the tires. Same plug and everything... _________________ www.tabpatterson.com |

I'm honored that you made this a sticky.
Tab, that seems like one fine piece of machinery. I wonder how long it will last. What year did you buy it in? _________________

Hey guys,
don't want to be a buzzkill, but isn't this for just pics? I know it wasn't initially a sticky but I really like the fact that you can see so many nice moped pics without a whole lot of text.
Uncle robby, that graphic you made is pretty neat but I'm on a laptop that's runnig 640x480 and it's half of my screen. It's nice but it's a pretty big footprint... at least on this old mac.
I don't know, maybe if people are OK with it Tab can edit back down to pics only?
Don't get me wrong, I PM'd tab right away about how sweet that bike looked... and when I saw all the new posts I thought "More pics!!
or we could rename it.. "talking about scooter pics"
lol, not like I'm trying to make rules.. but you gotta admit 'pics of your moped' is a darn cool thread |
