I just picked up a 2008 LX that doesn't seem to be drawing fuel. Fuel is getting to the carb but not to the plug. I've never worked on this model carb. Is there anything I need to watch out for with this carb?
Also, I prefer the old Dellorto SHA carbs. Can an A35 intake/SHA carb be swapped out on an A55 engine?
Thanks! _________________ MoPedLar |

I have had the same problem with the A55 carbs. Any modification to the airbox causes problems. The last 2 A55s that I kitted were with the Airsal a35 cylinders so the old a35 carbs could be used. The a35 has a reed valve and the a55 is a piston port engine--I guess you could rig a manifold on the a55 cylinder that would use the old type carb. _________________ Bryan |

Brian, thanks for the reply. The airbox on this bike is untouched. What should I look for that would be causing this fuel problem? I really hate the looks of this carb. I like the old SHA 14/12's.
So....If I were to kit this bike, an A35 Airsal Kit will bolt right up? Would I also need to buy the whole reed setup (and A35 intake) to go with the kit or does the jug include the A35 reed set up and intake? Sorry for all the dumb questions. _________________ MoPedLar |

A35, 63.7 Airsal kit comes with new reeds, you will need a manifold and airbox for the A35 kit though. Re use the head,no gasket. Up jet to a 60 or 62. _________________ John

Thanks! I'll see what I can do with the stock carb setup first. Hopefully, it just needs a quick carb cleaning. _________________ MoPedLar |

Hi Moe, it sure will. It's a real nice bike. It just needs the front headlight fairing replaced or ride it as is with the crack in it. I'd keep it, but I already have two other Tomos LX's. _________________ MoPedLar |
