I "found" a Yamaha Majesty 400 (0ne year old with 1,400 miles on it) in the back corner of my shop. Jeanie hasn't seen it yet so I need decide whether to keep it and catch hell or sell it. I have always wanted a Burgmann 650 or a Silverwing, so I may sell the Majesty. Has anybody had any experience with any of these 3 scooters? I believe Larry had or still has a Burgmann.

I owned my 2003 Burgman 650 for 3 years before selling it last summer. It was just too big and heavy for me. Performance and reliability-wise, it was a great bike. I'm just not cut out for big maxi-scooters. I prefer my smaller Honda Elite scoots.

The Majesty is also heavy--I have to work to get it up on the main-stand. Gas mileage is also a factor these days. A 150cc is a little underpowered for highway use.

I have a 07 400 Burgman, 470lbs dry. Best scooter I have ever bought. Great for 2 up touring. Haven't found a incline it can't climb! lol We haul a 250 Kymco when we use the RV though.

If I were to get another big scoot, I'd definitely go with a Burgman 400. Suzuki makes a quality bike that's very easy to maintain.

I haven't posted in a long while, but I can give an opinion on the Honda Silverwing. Now with just under 30K miles it has been a wonderful scoot for me. It weighs 540# wet and is 600cc twin FI. I ride 2-up in the mountains all day no bogging down and have reached a top speed of 108mph with my payload onboard. Gas, regular maint, a drive belt, front wheel bearings and 2 sets of tires is all I've needed. Not a lot really, and doing the work myself saved hundreds!

Having said that, the burgmans (650 & 400) are great bikes as is the Majesty. Both 400cc bike were on my short list to buy when I spotted the Silverwing in the back corner of the showroom. The rest is history.

Bryan you have helped me in the past so I hope this helps you. If I were you I would ride the Majesty for a while and see if 400cc is "enough". If not find a Sw 600 for Berger 650 to test ride. Big difference in two up riding.

Remember: the red ones are the fastest!
