I have reduced the wiring of by bike down to just the charging and ignition. I am getting a weak spark. (really the only way to telll that there is anything at all is to let the coil shock me , verey weakly). is there something that I am missing?

you may have a bad condenser it stores and amplifies the voltage from the coil - weak yellow spark is usually caused by a bad condenser

No no no.
That will never do.
The whole spirit of the vehicle is DIY.
It really gets the wheels spinning in my head.
I am on the look out for a crashed/parts scooter to build my own vehicle.
Sort os a found object art sculpture.
Rusty
P.s. here is a bike I built (I know it has pedals) but the subject is DIY.

Yep,
It's my first attempt at creating a period correct 1915-1920 "clip on" motor kit bicycle.
I wanted a barn fresh look with out the price tag and I can ride it with out fear of destroying a museum piece.

Yep,
Model-T buzz coil hides the CDI unit and all the wires were replaced with cloth covered appliance wire.

Hey Longbiker,
Regarding Burning Man at Black Rock.
What kind of hoops did the DMV (Department of mutant vehicles) make you jump through in order to ride your "Scooter" on the playa?
Did you have to have a valid state registration to begin with?
I have read there is a great deal of resistance to scooters at the burn or is that more directed toward stock looking bikes and Gopeds?
Do you think my bike pictured above would be different enough to be considered a "Art" vehicle and be allowed by the DMV?
Thanks
Rusty
