Champ LC50 parts compatibility

Postby mikehailwood » Sun Aug 26, 2012 12:59 pm

A friend has a 1981 Yamaha Champ LC50 with a bad piston and cylinder. Are there any other models whose cylinder will bolt to the Champ motor? Champ stuff doesn't seem that readily available at tightwad prices.

the champ is a moped not a scooter.
try the other MRA forum for moped riders.

"Noped" which resembles a scooter in lots of ways.

My apologies. I don't really know how to classify this thing. Kind of a noped thing with scooter-like tires.

if your cylinder is only slightly scored you might be able to salvage it.
use a 3 shoe hone . not a bead type.
then you might be able to afford a piston kit.

The piston/rings are frozen solid to the cylinder walls.

E-bay seems to have lots of NOS parts for the small Champ/Towny
