You needed a tricycle, Moe? Having trouble balancing things on two wheels now? LOL!

Looks great!

Nice scoot Moe, keep up on the maintenance though. "Modern Vespa" site will be your friend from now on! Enjoy the new found comfort and speed.

Moe, let us know how it does performance wise. I have considered the 250 or the 500 but the 500 is a bit fast for me. Had one pass me on the local expressway a while back. I was cruising at 70 in my car and he blew me and several others off thge road, had to be doing 85. They say the 250
will top out at 77. True?
And yes, I am at that age where I need a trike (or a keeper)!!

nice but .....
don't be lulled into false confidence with that
3 wheeler is stable , some of them have been known to tip over
even with the front wheels locked!!!

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the good wishes. This bike is the most stable straight-line bike I've ever ridden. The only time the front can be locked is under 5 mph and with no throttle input so it will fall over at any other time.

I went to breakfast with some of my motorcycle buddies the other day and it held it's own all through the twisties in the Berkshires even following an old friend hot footing it on a Ninja 250. He never lost me. Don't get me wrong...a sport bike it's not...but it WILL handle spirited riding with a solo rider very well.
It is more comfortable operating at a slower and more sedate pace. When ridden on city streets under normal conditions this bike is extremely comfortable and easy to handle. Even with my 6 foot frame it's surprizingly comfortable.
I ran it up on the highway for a top speed run and can comfirm that the speedometer is a bit optimistic. Top speed indicated 84 mph but GPS said 77 mph. Still VERY good for a 250 and more then I will need for my new commute. The first 2 tankfuls yeilded 65 and 71 mpg which is not hard to take at all.
And yes John, I went from the ultimate in simplicity to the extreme in COMPLEXITY! There is no rational for it...I just Loved it! I have joined Modern Vespa and have already learned soooo much. I am very fortunate to have the dealer I bought it from be a scooter and moped mechanic all his life. He also handles Apprilla which the Sport 250 has the same engine and running gear. My other dealer is a Piaggio/Vespa dealer and is well familiar and a rider and fan of the MP3's. She just couldn't match the price I got this 250 for and she recommended that I buy it.
All in all I'm extremely happy and enjoying this new bike. Who isn't happy when they have a new bike.
See you all on the road boys,
Moe

Moe,
I love that bike ! I would love to own one.

I guess if I turned the seat around and put the handle bars on the other end of my Gyro, I would have one, , almost, lol .

Moe, thanks for the full report. If I get enough bucks in the bank and room
in the garage I might go for the Piaggio MP3 250. As I recall Piaggio lists
the top speed on the 250 as 77 mph. so you are getting what they say
and that is far faster than I would expect to run!!!!

Hey Moe!

Its been a while since I posted here. Congrats on the new bike. I test rode one when they first came out, was able to do 8-10' donuts leaning wayyy over. The bike-a...she is-a stable!
I agree with John on maintenance, italian parts can take a while to arrive on this side of the pond.

Good luck and Ride Safe!
